An Introduction to Eco-Therapy with Dr. Rachel Horodezky, PsyD25159

August 12, 2026 | 11:00 AM–12:00 PM (PT) | Live on Zoom

Join Dr. Rachel Horodezky, PsyD25159, for a free introductory exploration of eco-therapy, an evidence-informed approach that harnesses the healing potential of the natural world to support mental health and well-being. Participants will learn about the theory, research, and clinical applications of eco-therapy, as well as practical ways to integrate nature into therapeutic work.

Eco-therapy is the fourth pillar of Embodiment Medicine, complementing somatic psychology, expressive arts, and mindfulness. Rooted in the understanding that humans are inherently connected to the living world, eco-therapy offers pathways for regulation, resilience, meaning-making, and healing through relationship with nature.

This live Zoom training is free to attend and provides 1 Continuing Education (CE) credit for master's-level mental health professionals. Whether you are new to eco-therapy or curious about expanding your therapeutic toolkit, this workshop will offer both inspiration and practical guidance for bringing the natural world into the healing process.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Define eco-therapy and describe its theoretical foundations and evidence base.

  2. Identify three clinical benefits of nature-based interventions for supporting psychological well-being, emotional regulation, and resilience.

  3. Describe at least two practical ways to incorporate eco-therapy principles into psychotherapy and mental health treatment.
